Vartha™ – Version 1.0


1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the digital products and services offered under the Vartha™ platform, including its mobile application, website, and associated features (collectively, “Services”). Vartha is a product of Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd, developed and maintained by its technology division, Reviens Tech.

By accessing or using Vartha, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you must refrain from using the Services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Version” at the top of this page and provide appropriate notifications where required. Continued use of the Services constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.


2. Scope of Services

Vartha is a digital news delivery platform designed to provide curated, personalized, and multilingual news and information. The Services include, but are not limited to:

  • The Vartha mobile application and website (vartha.in)

  • News articles, videos, and visual summaries

  • AI-powered content feeds and user-specific recommendations

  • User interaction features such as voting, polls, and content personalization

  • Debate and campaign content such as Varthamanam

All content and features provided through these Services are intended for personal, non-commercial use only.


3. Use of Content and Services

All content made available on Vartha, including but not limited to text, images, videos, graphics, infographics, logos, metadata, and software, is the intellectual property of Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd or its licensed partners. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any content unless expressly permitted in writing.

Permitted usage includes:

  • Viewing and interacting with content via our app or website

  • Sharing public links through social media or messaging platforms with proper attribution

Prohibited activities include:

  • Republishing, downloading, scraping, or redistributing content without authorization

  • Misuse of voting systems, comments, or personalization features

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer or tamper with the application or website

a. When Permission is Required

You must obtain prior written permission from Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd (or the applicable rights holder) before using:

  • Full news articles or media packages

  • Video segments, photographs, or audio content

  • Screenshots, infographics, or original datasets

  • Vartha branding elements such as logos, taglines, and metadata

  • Content used for academic, AI training, or data mining purposes

  • Any derivative works based on Vartha content

Some content may feature third-party contributions or elements (e.g., agency images, guest commentary, embedded content) for which Vartha holds only limited broadcasting rights. In such cases, it is your responsibility to seek permissions directly from the original rights holder.

Unauthorized use may constitute a violation of copyright laws or content licensing agreements and could result in legal liability.

4. Acceptable Use of Vartha™ Services and Content

To maintain a safe, lawful, and respectful platform for all users, the following terms apply when using Vartha’s services and content. By using Vartha, you agree to adhere to the guidelines outlined below.

a. Integrity of the Platform

You must not interfere with or compromise the integrity or security of the Vartha platform in any manner. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attempting to hack, alter, or reverse-engineer our systems or applications

  • Circumventing technological protections designed to prevent unauthorized copying or access to content

  • Using VPNs or other tools to access region-specific content that is restricted or unavailable in your location

  • Continuing to use Vartha features, content, or applications that have been withdrawn, deprecated, or disabled by us

We reserve the right to disable access to certain features, content, or services at any time and without prior notice.

b. Respect for Others

Vartha is committed to fostering constructive, fact-based, and respectful discourse. Therefore, while using our services or engaging with our content, users must not:

  • Post or disseminate material that is defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, or unlawful

  • Engage in harassment, threats, or intimidation of other users

  • Use Vartha content to incite hatred or promote misinformation

  • Associate Vartha with harmful ideologies, including but not limited to racism, communalism, or sexism

  • Disclose sensitive or legally restricted information such as active court cases or private data without consent

Engaging in such conduct may result in suspension or termination of your account and potential legal action.

c. User Safety and Health

Users are responsible for ensuring their own physical and digital safety while using Vartha, particularly when engaging with interactive or multimedia features.

We advise against the use of immersive or visual-intensive features (such as video feeds or dynamic interactions) in situations that may compromise personal safety, such as while operating vehicles, walking, or using shared/public digital equipment. If you experience any form of discomfort while using our Services, you should discontinue use immediately.

d. Intellectual Property and Identity

You may not impersonate or falsely claim affiliation with Vartha or its associated entities, nor may you:

  • Recreate, clone, or copy any Vartha service interface or branding

  • Use our trademarks, logos, or content in promotional material, media releases, or public statements without prior written approval

  • Monetize Vartha content through third-party platforms, advertisements, or other means without express authorization

  • Use Vartha content for misleading or deceptive purposes

  • Train artificial intelligence systems using Vartha content without prior permission

Any unauthorized use of Vartha’s brand or content may result in legal action.

5. Shareable Content

Some Vartha™ content is specifically designated as “shareable” for personal, non-commercial use. You can identify shareable content by the presence of one or more of the following options:

  • A Share or Embed button

  • Social media sharing icons (e.g., for platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, or WhatsApp)

  • A direct link designed for public redistribution

While such content is made available for easy sharing, it is important to understand the following terms of use:

a. Copyright and Licensing

Vartha may not always hold full ownership of shareable content. In certain cases, we obtain limited usage rights or licenses from original creators, content agencies, or third-party contributors. Improper usage may breach those agreements and could result in legal or contractual consequences for both Vartha and the user.

Please refrain from modifying, editing, or repurposing such content unless you have received prior written permission from us.

b. Personal Use

You may share designated shareable content for personal or educational use through:

  • Social media platforms

  • Messaging applications

  • Embedding within blog posts or personal websites (with proper attribution)

However, all use must retain original branding, context, and attribution as displayed on the Vartha platform.

c. Business or Commercial Use

If you intend to use any Vartha shareable content for commercial, journalistic, corporate, or promotional purposes—including in presentations, advertising, client reports, branded content, or media republishing—you must first request written permission from us. In such cases, a licensing fee or usage agreement may apply.

d. Platform Responsibility

When you share content via third-party social media platforms, you are also bound by their respective terms of service. Vartha does not control or assume responsibility for how these platforms use or manage the content once shared.

We encourage you to consult the terms of service and privacy policies of any platform through which you share Vartha content.

6. Shareable Content – Permitted Uses

Vartha™ encourages the responsible sharing of select content for non-commercial and educational purposes. If content is marked with a share, embed, or social media button, you may:

a. Use Sharing Features

You may share Vartha content via available sharing links or buttons to your personal website, blog, or social media platform, provided it is in a non-commercial context and used without modification.

b. Use Our Embedded Player

If an embed option is available, you may embed our video or content player on your personal website or social media profile.
However, you must not:

  • Alter the function or appearance of the player

  • Extract or repurpose content from within the player

  • Embed content from Vartha™ that does not explicitly include an embed option

c. Comment or Share Your Views

You are welcome to express opinions or initiate discussion around Vartha shareable content on public platforms, as long as the tone is respectful and not unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful to individuals or communities.


7. Shareable Content – Restrictions

The following restrictions apply to all shareable content published by Vartha™:

a. Harmful or Offensive Associations

You must not use Vartha content alongside or in association with:

  • Defamatory, discriminatory, or misleading content

  • Pornographic, violent, or hateful material

  • Promotion of illegal substances or weapons

  • Content that threatens child safety or privacy

  • Content that may damage the reputation or impartiality of Vartha™

b. Monetization and Access

You may not charge users to access Vartha shareable content.
If the content appears on a subscription-based platform, you must clearly state that the shared content is free to access.

c. Disproportionate Use or Misrepresentation

You must not:

  • Use Vartha content as the sole or dominant material on your website or service

  • Present Vartha content in a way that implies endorsement or sponsorship

  • Represent yourself as a content partner, licensee, or affiliate of Vartha™

  • Use Vartha shareables in political campaigns or advocacy without written permission

d. Commercial and Advertising Restrictions

You may not:

  • Display ads before or between shareable content and its link

  • Place advertising overlays on the content or directly adjacent to it

  • Use the content on pages, feeds, or apps that consist primarily of Vartha material

  • Display contextual ads (e.g., running shoe ads next to content about athletics)

  • Modify or bundle content in a way that generates revenue or affiliate income

e. Attribution Integrity

You must not:

  • Remove or obscure any copyright notices

  • Alter the source of the content or falsely attribute it to another party

  • Present the content in a misleading manner that obscures its origin


8. Shareable Content – Attribution Requirements

When sharing or embedding Vartha content, you must:

  • Use the most current version available

  • Retain all embedded metadata, tracking codes, and credit labels

  • Display the content clearly and in context

If a shareable does not display an automatic credit, include one of the following in a prominent position:

  • Source: Vartha™ (vartha.in)

  • Vartha News – © [Insert Year] Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd

Where applicable, include a working hyperlink to the original content page on the Vartha platform.


9. Disclaimer on Shareable Use

To the extent permitted by law, Vartha™ and its parent company Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd are not liable for any direct or indirect consequences resulting from your use of shared content. Responsibility for compliance with applicable laws and platform terms rests solely with the user or publisher.

10. Your Vartha™ Account

a. Registering for an Account

Certain features of the Vartha™ platform—such as personalized news recommendations, bookmarking, voting, and participation in interactive events—require users to create a registered account.

b. Account Creation Guidelines

You can register for a Vartha™ account through our app or website using your mobile number, email address, or an eligible third-party login service.

To ensure security and integrity:

  • Do not share your login credentials (username or password) with others

  • Do not submit false or misleading information during registration

  • Do not impersonate another individual or attempt unauthorized access

  • Do not bypass, disable, or interfere with our platform security mechanisms

  • Do not create multiple accounts or create accounts on behalf of others, except for a minor under your care

It is your responsibility to keep your account information current and secure.

c. How We Use Your Information

The information you provide during registration and while using Vartha’s Services enables us to:

  • Deliver personalized content and recommendations

11. Liability and Service Limitations

We work diligently to ensure that Vartha™ delivers accurate, secure, and uninterrupted service. However, by using our platform, you acknowledge the following limitations:

a. Device or Data Damage

We are responsible only if the use of our Services directly causes physical damage to your device or loss of data, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

b. Legal Obligations

We remain liable in the rare instance where our negligence causes personal injury or death, or where exclusion of liability would be deemed unlawful or unfair under consumer law.

c. Exclusions

Except where legally restricted, Vartha™ and its parent company Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Reliance on news, commentary, or other informational content

  • Temporary interruptions, bugs, errors, delays, or loss of service

  • Removal or unavailability of content, links, or features

  • Any incident that could not have been reasonably foreseen

  • Losses not typically resulting from the breach or issue in question

  • Indirect damages unless explicitly agreed upon in advance

This also applies to content or services accessed through links to third-party websites.


12. External Links and Third-Party Services

From time to time, Vartha™ may provide links to external websites or host third-party content within our platform (such as social media integrations, embedded tools, or promotional collaborations).

a. No Endorsement

Links to third-party sites or services are provided for user convenience and do not constitute endorsement or recommendation by Vartha™ or Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd.

b. No Responsibility for External Content

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party website. Use of such external services is at your own risk.

c. Shared Content Responsibility

If you or another user shares a link containing external content, Vartha™ is not responsible for the contents of the linked page or for any resulting interactions.

d. Third-Party Terms

Each third-party service will have its own terms of use and privacy policies. Users are encouraged to review those terms before interacting with external content via Vartha™.

13. Final Provisions

a. Use on Behalf of an Organisation

If you access or use Vartha™ Services on behalf of a business, institution, or organisation, that entity is also bound by these Terms of Service. This applies if your use is:

  • In connection with your professional role (as an employee, contractor, or consultant),

  • For commercial or revenue-generating purposes, or

  • For institutional activities (such as education, non-profit, or governmental engagement).

By doing so, your organisation agrees to comply with these terms and assumes all related responsibilities.


b. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any part of the Vartha™ platform or its content, you acknowledge and accept:

  • These Terms of Service

  • Any additional terms or policies communicated to you in relation to specific features, campaigns, or partnerships

These terms supersede all previous communications or agreements between you and Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd concerning the use of Vartha™ Services.


c. Contractual Nature

These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you (the user) and us (Study Quotient Edu Pvt Ltd). No third party shall have any rights to enforce or rely upon any provision of these Terms unless explicitly stated.


d. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of India.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Vartha™ Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
